Recently I had the pleasure of working with The Draft House based in the stunning surf village of Strandhill, Co. Sligo. This spot has so much to offer its customers and knows how to keep us happy. It is a big contributor to the Sligo food trail and food scene currently happening in the West. The interiors of this place are to die for, you find local artwork on the walls, swings in front of a wood burning fire and showers out the back for after a surf.  The chefs have been working hard on a new menu, each dish is bang full of flavour and was a delight to work with. They have also put together a mouth-watering brunch menu where you will find Super salads, Banana and Cinnamon Pancakes, and the classic Eggs Benedict.

The Draft House pride themselves on using local, organic and artisan food suppliers. This is what makes the quality of their food so high.

The pork and beef hails from Sheerin’s Meatin’ Place, Ballymote, Co. Sligo. Sheerin’s butchers supply The Draft House with their delicious award-winning sausages, chorizo sausages, beef and their own sweet-cured bacon. The salad leaves ,herbs and vegetables are freshly delivered from Croghan Organic Garden, Croghan, Co. Roscommon and the quail eggs are sourced at 12 Quail Farm, Fenagh, Co. Leitrim. While the duck eggs are sourced from Thornhill Farm, Blacklion, Co. Cavan.
So much thought and love has been put into The Draft House and you can feel this energy seeping out of every corner of this wonderful establishment.

Last but not least I have to mention The Draft House cocktails. The bar staff take enormous pride in creating cocktails and have a great menu put together. Whisky Sour and Mojitos are just a few of the classics to be found and are wonderfully on point. In the Draft House, you can find a large selection of Craft Beers; my favourite out of their selection would have to be any of The White Hags seven beers which are brewed in Sligo.  Perfect for an evening after being in the sea our strolling on along Strandhill Beach. I have to give credit to all the wonderful staff at The Draft House for all the passion and energy that radiates throughout this establishment.
